A Place to Practice
The Café is a special part of Markiz al-Wihda. Some people say it is really the heart of our English Center. The café is nothing fancy, you should think of it more like your Grandma’s living room. It’s a place to come together, meet people, play a game of cards or chess, drink some tea or coffee, and most importantly practice your English.
The café is a special place for our registered students to spend time practicing English outside of class. Lessons are important, but having a chance to practice the language naturally is just as important. Our café is not open to the public … because it’s not really a café, it’s just a place for our staff and students to hang out and talk. We only have a limited number of staff and we want to give priority for practicing English to our registered students.
If you are a former student, or a current student who would like to bring a family member or friend to the center, Saturday nights during our Conversation Activity Nights is a good choice. It will give them a chance to meet some of our staff and get a feel for the atmosphere of the center. Ahlan wa sahlan!
